Wasting Time At Work
In an effort to avoid actually getting anything done here on a Saturday in the office, the IFR Pilot was searching through Google Video and happened upon a number of videos by "freightdog@aviationland.com." Enjoy them here.
I sure hope there was someone else on board shooting the video since 14 CFR 135.100(b) says:
"No flight crewmember may engage in, nor may any pilot in command permit, any activity during a critical phase of flight which could distract any flight crewmember from the performance of his or her duties or which could interfere in any way with the proper conduct of those duties. ..."
Great blot. I am building my own airplane so any aviation discussion interests me -- it's an RV-8A! Something about 200 mph on 160 horsepower intrigues me. You can see our business at www.planetools.com and you'll understand why we chose the RV. Glenna
With the exception of the first video, it does look like the camera was rigidly mounted. Other than turning the camera on occasionally panning it to the side and back, (and I don't remember him doing that during a critical phase) the pilot doesn't seem to be very involved in the filming process. I would like to know how he mounts his camera, though.

Perhaps he used a tripod mounted camcorder, with a remote on/off. Kinda like that TknoFlyer does on his website...
